what clients are saying about flora

“It can be daunting sometimes to bring up prolapse or issues with pain during sex with a healthcare provider, but that is not the case with Brook. She made me feel comfortable talking about these issues and asked thoughtful questions to make sure she understood my problem. On top of that, she is extremely knowledgeable about all things pelvic floor! She was able to offer guidance and several different products that might help.
I also got her “Complete Postpartum Care Guide,” and it is a wealth of knowledge! It has a beautiful layout that is easy to navigate. So many helpful tips ranging from breastfeeding to c-section scar care!”

“I’ve personally seen Dr. Brook for pelvic floor physical therapy. She has helped me better understand my body, my anatomy and makes me feel so safe talking about things that are really hard to discuss openly. I’ve been able to overcome my pelvic pain, return to intimacy and actually ENJOY it!! Dr. Brook did not just get me out of pain. She gave me my life back.
I plan on seeing her through out my pregnancy and postpartum recovery as well. She is so knowledgeable and able to address any and all pelvic floor concerns!! 10/10 recommend!”

“Dr. Brook Orvis saved me! I've been struggling with hip and groin pain following a strain during soccer and couldn't achieve relief on my own. She eased me into my first dry needling session by educating me and talking me through every adjustment made. I felt safe and comfortable in her care. The dry needling was thorough and immediately effective while the hip strengthening exercises she shared have had a long term, positive impact on my core integrity. Brook showed me the exercises herself and had me try them with her present to ensure I understood, then sent videos for reference following our appointment.
I'm so glad I asked Brook for her expertise and help-- only wish I had utilized her skill sooner!!”

“Brook is an incredibly knowledgeable doctor who clearly has a passion and a gift for physical therapy. Dealing with pelvic floor pain can sometimes be embarrassing, but Brook makes you feel so welcome and takes all of your concerns seriously. If you live in Durham or the Triangle, I highly recommend seeing her for therapy. It will be infinitely more valuable than going to a chain clinic where they give you 15 minutes of their time and hand you a generic print-out. Everything is personal and individualized. 10/10.”

“Despite being a healthcare practitioner myself, as a patient, I would say there’s increased apathy about seeking and finding the right health care provider for my needs. Saying Brook Orvis exceeded my expectations is an understatement. This was a really unique experience. The atmosphere that she’s able to create, her extensive history collection, her passion for education was something that we all would be better served with as patients. Many PTs and OTs have the skill set of empowering their patients. This was special level however in the most neutral judgement free zone Ive experienced as a patient with Brook. And ironically, despite the fact that she’s a specialized clinician, and in the world of specialty medicine sometimes problems solely get treated in isolation. But she wants to create a recovery path that also is a functional human one versus a targeted problem.”

“I saw Dr. Brook to assess possible diastasis recti after the birth of my second child. She was thorough, knowledgeable, and realistic in providing postpartum care and exercises that can fit into my day to day with two kiddos under 2. I've enjoyed her Instagram content too- informative and fun!”
