At Flora Physical Therapy, I work with folks of all genders in Durham, Chapel Hill, Wake Forest, Raleigh, Hillsborough, and the Triangle of North Carolina to provide a whole body approach to address any pelvic floor issue that may arise throughout the lifespan including pelvic pain, sexual dysfunction, constipation and all bowel issues, urinary leakage and other bladder problems, pelvic organ prolapse, birth preparation, pregnancy aches and pains, postpartum recovery, gender affirming care, and other types of orthopedic concerns, in addition to swelling, vascular conditions, and issues that may arise during and following cancer treatment so that you can get back to doing what you love.
at flora, i am the clinical expert in treating…
pelvic floor conditions
Regardless of your gender identity or orientation, if you are a human you have a pelvic floor and deserve access to inclusive pelvic floor physical therapy treatment. I treat people of ALL genders who are struggling with pelvic pain, bowel, bladder, and sexual issues and actually get to the root cause of the problem.
gender affirming care
Whether you are in the beginning stages of gender affirming surgery and looking to establish your care team or are struggling following surgery, I would love to work with you! We can go over anything under the sun like dilator therapy, pain-free receptive intercourse, working over scar tissue, or any other areas that may be keeping you from being able to engage in activities that bring you joy.
male pelvic floor conditions
Having a hard time finding a pelvic floor physical therapist willing to work with men? Don’t worry, I do! I love providing pelvic floor treatment to all people, including my male clients. So whether you are struggling with bowel or bladder issues, problems with sex or intimacy, erectile dysfunction, pelvic pain, or anything else you can think of, chances are I’ve worked with a client with a similar problem. And I would love to help you figure out the underlying issue so that you can start feeling better.
pregnancy and postpartum care
Looking to prepare for your upcoming delivery? Or maybe you are currently in the process of trying to conceive or are post-delivery and looking for pelvic floor care. Regardless of where you are in your journey, you would absolutely benefit from working with a pelvic floor physical therapist and I would love to be that resource for you!
pediatric pelvic floor conditions
Is your kiddo struggling with different issues relating to toileting like leaking of urine while sleeping at night, giggle incontinence, constipation, or withholding potentially due to pain or fear of using the toilet? If your child is having issues in the pelvic region just know that pelvic floor physical therapy treatment is an option and can be so helpful! I love working with children and their caregivers to come up with a plan so that you can stop stressing out and so your kid can be a kid.
lymphedema and cancer care
If you’re having a hard time during or after your cancer journey and dealing with sexual issues, pain, axillary web syndrome, swelling, or the ability to move and enjoy the activities you want to be able to participate in, you would benefit from working with a physical therapist who specializes in lymphedema and cancer care. And I would love to work with you!
flora
I provide high quality and comprehensive therapy services to all patients regardless of age, race, religion, socioeconomic status, sexual orientation, gender identity or gender expression. This means that I treat everyone with a pelvic floor, struggling during or following cancer treatment, or dealing with different vascular conditions and have been residency trained to do so. Clients that I work with include children, men, women, and the LGBTQIA+ community.
is a woman-owned physical therapy clinic in Durham, North Carolina that provides one on one appointments with a Board Certified Women’s Health, Pelvic Health, and Lymphedema Specialist in a private treatment room. No talking about sensitive information in a crowded gym. Nothing is off limits and there is no such thing as “too much information.”
Feeling like you have seen pelvic floor or lymphedema therapists in the past without results? I am Duke Residency Trained in pelvic floor dysfunction and have received the highest level of certifications to treat pelvic floor dysfunction as a Board-Certified Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist. This means that I have completed thousands of hours of mentorship and specialized training to work with folks struggling with different problems with their pelvic floor. So trust me, I know a thing or two.
at flora physical therapy…
Treatment is accessible and includes in-clinic, in-home, and virtual appointment options including weekend hours instead of clinics that only offer availability in-clinic and during weekdays. I can meet you where you are so that you don’t have to take time off of work or go into a clinic setting where you aren’t comfortable.
Treatment options are offered not just to clients within the state of North Carolina, but across the United States and internationally through virtual wellness appointments. This means that you can still work with me and get high quality care even if you’re not local to Durham, NC so that you don’t have to go without the care that you need or have to drive hours to work with a skilled provider!
You are able to speak with me, your Board-Certified Women’s Health and Pelvic Floor Physical Therapist, when you call the clinic instead of talking to a representative that has zero medical or clinical expertise. I actually pick up the phone and will personally return your phone calls and messages.
I am a momma to one, so when you work with me for your pelvic floor dysfunction as a result of being pregnant or having children, I have actual experience with pregnancy and postpartum compared to working with a provider that isn’t a parent. I try to make all recommendations that are given to my clients functional and realistic based on what you are struggling with and time constraints that come with being a parent.
I am passionate about providing inclusive and accessible care to everyone. Not just people that are pregnant or have had children. Not just women or people with vaginas or front pelvic openings. So when I say that I treat everyone with a pelvic floor, I actually mean it. I have been specially trained to work with everyone with a pelvic floor and happily provide care to all people groups including to children, men, and the LGBTQIA+ community. Because everyone deserves excellent medical care.
I have chosen to specialize exclusively in pelvic health, lymphedema, and oncology care instead of these conditions being an afterthought at my clinic.
Unlike many other private practices, Flora Physical Therapy is a small, locally owned clinic where you will be seen by me, a Board Certified Pelvic Floor and Women’s Health Physical Therapist, for the full duration of your appointment. You will be treated by me during every follow-up appointment and never randomly placed on another providers schedule or handed off to a therapy aide after 20 minutes of treatment.

you’re my why
I was tired of having to wait months to see my medical care providers at bigger practices and, when I did, feeling unheard and rushed out the door. So I created a better way. At Flora Physical Therapy, my practice model allows me to see you for hour long appointments with consistency. No waiting for months to be seen for your first appointment and then having to wait months on end to be seen for your follow-up appointments. No hand-offs to an aide or tech after 20 minutes of treatment with me. No unnecessary interventions or warming up on a bike “just because.”
You will get continuity of care at Flora where I will personally work with you for the full duration of every appointment and get you on a regular schedule to work with me instead of having to switch between multiple providers who don’t know you and feeling like you have to repeat your history every time you come in to the clinic.
I will give you my undivided attention during every appointment instead of staring at the computer screen. And I provide a hands-on approach for the full duration of each appointment. This means that you will only be sent home with information and techniques that I have personally reviewed with you instead of leaving you to figure things out on your own at home.
As a Board-Certified Doctor of Physical Therapy I believe that it’s important to identify and treat the underlying cause of your symptoms. Your initial assessment and subsequent appointments will involve a thorough evaluation, an in-depth intake of your medical history, specialized testing to determine the why behind your dysfunction, and interventions specific to you and your symptoms to treat your impairments and help you reach your goals. I don’t believe in “just having a glass of wine” to make your symptoms go away.
